This work is a calling to wisely manage resources that are entrusted to us. We are grateful for your trust, and we work hard every day to earn and retain it.
The Foundation is a ministry of the Church for the Church, whose mission is to build the Church for generations to come. We fulfill this mission by investing in people, churches and related institutions and innovation. We envision a church where people live out their discipleship through the faithful stewardship of their God-given resources.
The Foundation strives to be a steadying influence in seasons of change. Our breadth of offerings — fund management, loans, grants, scholarships, leadership development and much more — reflect a passion for the future God has in mind for the people called Methodists.
Founded in 1967 by visionary leaders, the Foundation has grown to become the third-largest among its peers in the United Methodist Connection with total assets surpassing $300 million.
It’s a remarkable testament to faith and persistence. In the early days, the Foundation relied on the Western North Carolina Conference for operating funds and office space. There was no dedicated staff. Deposits totaled less than $100,000. A half-century later, not only is the organization self-sustaining, but its annual operating budget dedicates a 10% tithe of income to the Conference.
Partners who invest with the Foundation benefit from our 24-year relationship with an investment consultant, Callan, and a multitude of first-in-class asset managers. A time-tested, socially responsible investment portfolio delivers strong returns for competitive management fees.

Welcome! We are glad you are here. We are pleased to share our resounding commitment to be a ministry of the Church for the Church throughout western North Carolina and beyond.
We strive to do the best we can through intentionality and accountability while being attentive to God’s gifts and graces.
We look beyond the norm to provide ministries that answer the question, “What are the ‘God possibilities’ ?”
“Doing the right things,” no matter the circumstances, guides our behavior as we set the example for others.
All we do is critically dependent on building strong relationships that lead to faithful partnerships.
